Moving to Canary Wharf, the bank central for London a couple of months ago renewed my interest in work appropriate dressing for men who work withing the financial sector of the economy. For us creatives, our dress code is pretty much anything goes and as much as working a blue collar job has it restrictions, there are ways to sharpen your look.

A little thought to your shirt collars can go a long way as they are one of the most visible parts of your work garb. Big/oversize/chunky collars are not geekchic, neither do they seem intelligent. A suitable alternative would be a curve collar or a cutaway collar shirt. Asos has some of the most decent and affordable ones on the high street and a little £18 investment in one would get you approving nods on the train or from your colleagues at work.

There's a lil debate over which of these collars are most appropriate for work. If you want an answer from me, it would be NONE. In fact you should invest in a few of both.
