If you’re a fledgling fashionista, a budding sartorialist or you just want to see the future face of fashion then grab yourself a ticket for the front row at the Royal College of Art graduate fashion shows on Wednesday 29 May 2013.
Over forty MA Fashion students specialising in menswear, womenswear and knitwear will present their final collections on the catwalk, with footwear, accessories design and millinery in a static display. There will also be a selection of garments designed by first-year students who have been working with Italian brand, Brioni.
Graduates will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of a new generation of RCA fashion alumni who have set up their own labels and are winning industry awards, including Holly Fulton, Eudon Choi, Christopher Raeburn, James Long, Katie Eary, milliners Justin Smith and Zara Gorman and footwear designers Camilla Skovgaard and Sophia Webster.
An emphasis on individual creativity and originality married with impeccable technical know-how means that RCA graduates are entering the market with exactly the right skills needed to thrive in the profession. 95% of RCA Fashion MA graduates gain employment in the industry, and at the appropriate level.
Founded by former Vogue editor Madge Garland in 1948 and now led by Professor Wendy Dagworthy OBE, the highly acclaimed programme has helped train many successful fashion designers such as Philip Treacy, Julien Macdonald, Christopher Bailey, Clare Waight Keller, Erdem and Georgina Goodman.
Tickets cost £15 for the afternoon show and £36 for the evening champagne reception, book in advance from www.rca.ac.uk/fashionticket or 0207 590 4373.
