Quintessential British men’s outfitters Hackett is proud to announce the opening of its first ever store in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The opening of this store is in line with Hackett’s approach of opening flagship stores in key cities throughout the world. The new store, located on George Street, effortlessly mixes tradition and contemporary design to reflect the very essence of Hackett. The store will be a showcase for the whole of the Hackett range from casualwear, to formal suiting and the Hackett Mayfair collection.

The store concept brief was to create a residential feel; this has become a signature style throughout Hackett shops worldwide. The glazed modern façade will be removed and replaced with a Georgian style shop front that is in keeping with the era of the development, providing a traditional feel yet a fresh face to George Street. The entrance doors to the shop will feature Hackett’s unique cast aluminum ‘umbrella’ door handles and the large window bays are the perfect showcase for our ever evolving and creative window displays.

The retail selling space is 190 sq. meters all presented on one level through a series of rooms and designed around a central axis, separated by open archways. The entire store has beautiful limestone tiled flooring with a black granite border and the entrance features an impressive modo chandelier, design elements inspired by the Hackett flagship store in Sloane Street, London.

This store comprises four rooms. The first two will house our casualwear collection including garments related to Hackett’s sponsorships, ranging from Aston Martin Racing to The Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race. The third room will be exclusive to accessories and at the rear of the shop a large Hackett Mayfair suiting and sportswear room. A huge light-well has been re-installed within the suiting room, creating height and beams of natural daylight, a feature that is common along George Street and one that Hackett felt important to re-instate. Other distinctive focal highlights are the ‘library wall’ style joinery, that covers the entire left side of the rear room and opposite the two richly decorated changing rooms that have built in ‘framed’ plasma screens and walls upholstered in a charcoal grey flannel.

Furniture throughout is a mix of refurbished antique pieces and Hackett bespoke designed furniture that has been carefully selected exclusively for this opening. Imagery around the store depicts the brands heritage, from the early days of its founders to more recent events in the brands evolution. Hackett is renowned for its attention to detail and high-end store design concepts; this is clearly reflected within the brand new Edinburgh store.

Hackett has 38 stand-alone stores and 44 concessions worldwide.
